This year has been quite a packed one, Mitch Designs has really accomplished a bunch of projects worth mentioning. We have thought that it would be encouraging to share what we personally have come out with this year. The one thing we’re most proud of, makes another reason for why Mitch Designs stands out as a team and agency, in the field of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) that support effective User Experience (UX) methods.
It sure has required a lot of mind squeezing, filtering out our thoughts and prior ideas, reminding ourselves what was put into action and what was put on hold, recalling our trials and errors that had defined many things for each one of us.
It’s all GOOD! what was happening, exchanging resolutions and self evaluation, I believe we have pulled it off connecting with you better than the year before, and here, we’ve gathered our major acquisitions and successes to share.
2011 Done in the Checklist
Let's see what the crew had got to say about last year.
Malak Mitch, Founder & Managing Director
"To tell you the truth, 2011 haven’t been very optimistic on it’s beginning, business wise, specially in Egypt and the political situation, but I have been proven wrong, such incident has helped business owners to become more aware of the importance of World Wide Web and Social Networking in understanding its influence on people’s lives.
We have had such a busy year, bringing in more sophisticated colors into our designs, achieving our goal in offering, not only great designs, but a better user experience that can trigger users into taking a call of action on websites, to get attention, interest, desire and activity of each user.
Later this year, the launch Egyptolution.com, first online portal ever existed in Egypt, had taken place, advantaged with a very sexy design and concept, offering its visitors a huge a data base of pictures, video and reviews of different destinations in Egypt.
Through this all, we seem to have reshaped our type of work into e-Commerce, Travel Booking Engine and Content Management System “CMS”, getting you to expect more on such projects in 2012.
Having my crew around me has been amazing, increasing in number this year, taking the extra work off my shoulders, giving me more time to do what I love, which is to SKETCH & DESIGN.
As in managing and directing this agency, I want you to know that my ultimate enjoyment is seeing us grow in number and business. Taking us to what we have dreamt of, to be the leading web design company in the Middle East."
Alex Sief, Software Engineer
"With the help of everyone here, we have established a page controller for best page loading “loader”, providing each page with its specific requirements, with no extras, decreasing the possibility of bug appearance or code overflow, accelerating the page performance.
“Snippits” however, a recent innovative system that we have invented, automatically triggers events to contain required HTML code according to their position in the structure and the file name. It all paid off well in giving each developer, the back and front-end, their separate space, allowing no code interference, Front-end developer is only required to have known the structure of the framework."
Christine Ghobrial, Web Editor
"Despite several disappointments that had taken place in a row this year, it has been one of a kind for me! I’ve gone wild, rose above myself big time when I chose a different unexpected road for my career. First, starting Egyptolution, a website with Mitch for extensive travel information about Egypt, knowing how critical of a time it was, but we did it anyhow. Second, having the guts to finally leave the printing world of editing and make a move to the web world. It all ended up quite interesting and creative enough, to have introduced content management for copywriting and editing at Mitch Designs to include in our services bucket list!
This year has taught me to rise above little things, to make catastrophes a field of opportunity-making."
Karen Anwar, PR & Account Manager
"2011 was definitely different from any other year, because we have delivered better usable approaches when dealing with our clients. The ‘Public Relations’ department became more consistent to provide perfect means of communication internally and externally, as a result, it has become much more simpler, technical wise, with our support tickets system.
I have personally developed myself to love, care, appreciate, and most importantly consider the necessity of timing and action toward our client’s business and interest."
Mariam Tawfeek, Front-end Developer
"It has been a stuffed year, but somehow, we managed to progress. We’re now using HTML5 markup. I’m also proud to state that CSS3 new rules are applied to our code to draft sharp curve corners, shadows, gradients, transition animation and much more.
The best that I have worked with this year, is creating and using Arabic fonts with @fontface."
